FAQ

The Research of food intolerances and nutritional intolerances using the BioMetaTest methodology.
With a unique worldwide patent, Daphne Lab laboratories, for more than 15 years , have been developing a bio-spectrophotometric analysis system of human and veterinary tissue samples to obtain percentages of the biophysical food intolerances, called nutritional intolerances.

What is the difference between intolerance and allergy?
Allergy is a disease that involves the immune system and can be investigated with specific tests, such as the RAST test, the Prick test, the provocation test, the immunoglobulin test, the Cyto test, and all those categories of tests that take into account the biological and functional aspects of an immune reaction to a food. Food intolerance, on the other hand, is based on methods that investigate the reactions of the metabolic system. These tests are the Vegatest, the Voll’s bioenergetics test, the kinesiological test, and the BioMetaTest.

What is nutritional intolerance?
It is a separate category of intolerances that is based precisely on the organoleptic specifications of the foods analysed and how they influence the bioenergetic mechanism of the subject, entering the metabolism. This is why it is possible to find cases that may seem paradoxical, as being intolerant to almond but not to almond liqueur, being intolerant to yeast but not to rye bread containing yeast. The reason is because we are looking at the individual properties of a complex food as a whole and not at the molecular level as an allergy test would do.

I am diabetic, why sugars are not excluded in the test?
They are two completely different diseases. Indeed the former is a disease, while nutritional intolerance is a temporary disorder. You could also be celiac but resulting being tolerant to flour. Nutritional intolerances are absolutely different from molecular intolerances such as celiac disease, lactose intolerance, favism, and the like.

Is it an exam that everyone can do or does it have contraindications?
Children, seniors, dogs, cats can do the test without any problem. However, it is preferable to exclude pregnant women because the laboratory does not take responsibility for giving diets or protocols to pregnant women.

Can children also do this test? From what age?
From zero years onwards. In fact, we have developed the “Junior Tests” just for babies and children. Generally, if the newborn is breastfed, the child is tested but the mother will follow the protocol. Always behind medical or pediatric advice.

Do I need a doctor that follows me?
Yes, a professional who evaluates whether the BioMetaTest can be adapted to your case and whether the protocol can be applied to your physiology.

Is it important to indicate all data in the request form “62”?
Yes, all with clarity and sincerity, otherwise the result could be distorted. There are specific instructions for completing Form 62 at this link: Instructions for completing the form 62

Should the sample be treated specifically?
For the BioMetaTest you can use hair, body hair or even a salivary swab. Specific instructions on how to take the samples can be viewed at: How to request a test

Can I see an example of the biometatest before doing it?
Of course, examples of each test can be viewed  at: The BioMetaTests

My child eats with us. Can he do the adult intolerance test?
Of course, but we always recommend to view the examples before requesting the tests, at: The BioMetaTests

Is any special preparation required before performing the exam?
No, no preparation is required. There is no need to be fasting, nor to take particular drugs.

Should the patient be accompanied by someone or can he go alone to perform the exam?
There is no need to be accompanies. Moreover, the subject can return home alone.

Is the examination painful, or causing specific discomforts?
Absolutely not.

Are there any immediate risks for taking the sample?
No, just cut a small lock of hair or body hair. Some Daphne Points may decide to take a few cells from the mouth with a swab, but it does not cause any discomfort.

How long does it take to take the sample and fill out the request form for the exam?
It takes a few minutes.

After how long will I receive the report?
In about five working days from the moment the sample arrives in our logistics center..

Is it a clinical, medical, diagnostic examination?
No.

Is the test based on DNA examination?
No, the method is in biospectrophotometry. It has nothing to do with DNA testing.

Why the name Daphne?
Daphne is a symbol of a double meaning: both rational, logical, mathematical, technological and mythological, symbolic, imaginative, fairytale. Just as the double that is in every form of life, Daphne has this double value, typical of the caduceus of medicine.
● Technological value: Daphne also hides a technological soul, being the acronym of our Technology for the analysis of BioMetaTest = Device Amplitude Phase Health Natural Eubiology. It is a new generation device that uses 4-dimensional frequency waves with the amplification of the biological signal through a biospectrophotometry methodology. An innovative patented system, unique in the world, that no other laboratory can still copy. The Daphne Lab is the only one in the world that uses this system of patents and software, capable of processing more than 50,000 calculations and testing 3,500 elements per second.
● Mythological Meaning: Daphne was a beautiful nymph who lived happily in the forests of Olympus.
One day Apollo, proud of having killed the monstrous snake Python, met Eros mocked of him and of the fact that he had never performed actions worthy of glory. The god of love, deeply touched by the words of Apollo, took two arrows, one with the golden arrowhead and the other with a lead arrowhead. He flung the one with the golden arrowhead in the heart of Apollo and the one with the lead arrowhead in the heart of the nymph Daphne. Apollo began to fall madly in love with Daphne, who, having had the influence of lead, did not want to know anything about Apollo’s courtship. Daphne fled and was pursued by Apollo for months, until, exhausted, she invoked her protector Gaea to free her from that torment and the Mother of the nymphs turned Daphne into a laurel tree. Apollo desperately tried to embrace the tree and find his beloved Daphne, which no longer existed except as a plant. From then on Apollo proclaimed that the laurel should be the symbol of Victory and Honour, to be placed on the head as a honour. Later it was also used as a sign of wisdom on the head of poets and philosophers.

Why are they called Bio-intollerances?
The official medicine recognizes the term of food intolerances as those genetic metabolic disorders, such as favism, celiac disease, lactose intolerance, due to lack of lactase, etc … while it has not yet catalogued the most modern systems, due to the introduction of German bioelectronics. The Daphne Lab, to distinguish its BioMetaTests of Food Intolerances from other types of intolerances already codified by the official medicine, has coined the term “Bio-intolerances”,  also called nutritional intolerance. Therefore, Bio-Intolerances are very different from other types of allergies, immune diseases, genetic intolerances, food hypersensitivity, etc. The only system able to measure nutritional intolerances (bio-intolerance) is the technology used by the Daphne Lab laboratories. Other technologies measure other characteristics and modalities of an allergy or an intolerance but not the nutritional one.

How can I know the version of my BioMetaTest?
The version «Vers. xxx «is reported at the bottom of the test page or at the end. To find out if your test is updated to the latest version contact us.

What is the difference between EAV, Vega tests and the Daphne Lab BioMetaTests?
There are many systems to detect food intolerances, many are based on weak and psychological signals, such as Vega or EAV tests or with unconscious systems such as kinesiology. Ours is a stable system, based on a biospectrophotometry investigation system with a mathematical model of geno-bionic processing and genetic algorithms. The unique system of analysis and the revolutionary program of signal encodings allows our laboratories to detect very weak signals that would escape other systems of investigation. The Palladium technology system of Daphne Lab is called of third generation, has received a reliability report from the ASL (Italian Governmental Health Authority), with a 94% reliability and complies with international standards of Quality ISO 9001.

What is a third-generation test?
The first generation of intolerance testing was inaugurated by Arthur Coca by testing the pulse rate. The first generation includes all kinesiological testing methods, such as muscle strength testing, pulse testing, iris testing, etc.
With the second-generation testing method, a machine was introduced between the subject and the operator. This greatly reduced the degree of error of the results, but the system was still too dependent to changes in sensitivity of both the patient and the doctor.
The third-generation testing method does not provide for variables like the operator or the patient that can influence the analysis system, but only a machine that analyzes a biological tissue, following very rigid mathematical models.
The Palladium technology of the Daphne Lab laboratories received, from a reliability and repeatability study of the data, a 94% repeatability rate from Italian Healthcare Research Institutes (ASL and AIAS) and complies with the ISO 9001 Healthcare Quality standards.

Is there a difference between tests performed on the blood and those performed on the hair and on the salivary swab?
Even the Daphne Lab BioMetaTests  can be performed on the blood, but often we do not require this sample because it is difficult to ship, if not with special and authorized postal couriers at very high costs. A blood test, whether of a cytological or allergological nature, is an allergy test and tests the immune system’s response. Our test is based on the principles of the bio-spectrophotometry and verifies biointolerances or other enzymatic, chemical or organic disturbance fields. The hair, unlike the blood, preserves the nutrition history of the patient.

Why can one be intolerant to a food and not to a compound that contains that element?
For example, you may be intolerant to basil but not to Genoese pesto sauce made with basil.
This condition is called » paradox of synergy «. In fact, everything depends on a chemical-physical phenomenon that is very common in medicine, which is synergy. It is possible that one is intolerant to the yeast but not to the whole wheat bread that contains it, simply because the wholemeal flour lowers the component of intolerance of the yeast. For the same reason one can be intolerant to sugar but not to certain cookies that contain it. The question depends on the synergistic bio-frequencies of the compounds. A bio-frequency can be attenuated if in synergy with other elements. Therefore, an intolerant frequency can be reduced if in synergy with others, as it could increase if in the presence of others and generate the opposite phenomenon. This is why it is necessary to talk about nutritional intolerance and not food intolerance, because the nutritional intolerance understands and manages the synergy phenomenon.

How is the test interpreted?
The test must be interpreted by the Daphne Lab experts in order to plan together the food plan and to be able to evaluate the most correct methods and those that better adapt to the patient problems. We have experts who can develop a personalized food plan and a customized wellness protocol or just a personalized test interpretation. Contact us to find out the costs.

At some Daphne Points and in specific periods it is possible to get family discounts. You can ask information at the nearest Daphne Point.

Are there any promotions at this time?
You can get information at the nearest Daphne Point in your area. Discounts are often available if you require more than one test.

How can I pay?
At any Daphne Point in cash or by debit / credit card (if available). If you purchase the test directly from Daphne Lab through a simple postal account or bank transfer. The bank details can be requested directly by email or by consulting our website. For payment through PayPal,  a commission has to be add.

Should I take the test again to achieve my goals?
Bio-intolerances are not stable over time; they change especially if you eliminate the intolerant foods for 60 days or if you follow a purification program. According to statistical studies, it is important to repeat the test. People who have repeated the test after 60 days, then after 90 and then after 120 days are those who have recovered wellbeing and health more quickly.

Is it advisable to take follow-up tests from time to time?
When the desired goal is achieved, a second test should normally be performed after about 60 or 90 days, depending on the protocol initially chosen, and after six months. After that, we recommend to take a test once a year.

What are all those values and letters in thema 400-thema 01?
They represent proteins, sugars, fats, cholesterol, fibers, kilocalories, expressed in grams, the glycemic index of foods and the percentage of intolerance. All values are reported on the side of the first page.

Why does the new Daphne Lab report includes negative percentage values of intolerances?
The foods that report a negative percentages are the least intolerant and have a functionally positive effect for the body. For any interpretation requirement, you can contact your Daphne Point or contact us directly.

Why are some foods marked with an asterisk or a pound sign?
Foods marked with * are the most acidifying; they alter the biological status and slow down the metabolism. Those marked with # contrast the acidity of the tissues and have positive effects on the metabolism. It is recommended to eat foods marked with #.

I have carried out a food allergy test that shows that I am allergic to tomatoes and citrus fruits, while the Daphne Lab test does not show this. Why?
The Daphne BioMetaTest is a bio-energetic test and measures the percentage index of nutritional bio-intolerances and not allergies. Different tests can give different results. It is like doing a knee x-ray, a CT scan and a MRI. They will show some common aspects, while other evidences that result from the CT scan will not result in the radiography and vice versa. Each test represents a different point of view. Therefore, three different types of test will be needed to highlight if the subject is intolerant, allergic and / or deficient in digestive enzymes. There are many intolerance tests and many allergy tests. To carry out all of them will  lead to discordant results, not because they are not effective but simply because it is important to know how to choose the right test for the appropriate symptom and the goal to be achieved.
Your doctor will surely recognize the difference between various intolerances, allergies and enzymatic deficiencies. That is why we always advise to contact the personal doctor or an expert in the field.

A 4-year-old boy who is intolerant to all types of milk but not goat’s milk, has taken goat’s milk and has had terrible diarrhoea. Why?
If goat’s milk, which among other things is one of the best milks available, can cause this effect. It must be understood that diarrhoea is an improving and not pathological phenomenon (in any case always contact your pediatrician). In this case, the reason can be that the boy is particularly allergic to a goat’s milk protein that obviously can not result from a nutritional intolerance test.
We are accustomed to consider that every phenomenon outside the norm of our body is considered a pathology, but often it is not so. Diarrhoea is a way that the body uses to expel intestinal toxins or parasites or a condition of intestinal dysbiosis . In addition, the colon is bound to the skin and the baby in question may have dermatological problems. Therefore, diarrhoea may be caused by a series of internal toxins due to poor previous feeding or abused drugs.

How can I go back to my normal diet after following the suggested protocol for several months?
After at least 60 or 90 days of abstinence, it is advisable to reintroduce the intolerant foods, starting from the least intolerant in absolute. After, it is possible to reintroduce the other intolerant foods, once a week, always starting with those with a lower percentage of intolerance. Always keep a diary of any symptoms that each food can trigger. It is always recommended to contact expert and authorized personnel.

How can I interpret the tables in the «Meat cuts» section?
This panel helps to identify the most suitable and least intolerant meat cut.
Consider the “not intolerant” fat, lean or semi-lean meat in the list of foods divided into categories. Choose the cut that you prefer to eat, taking into account the index of intolerance. The lowest percentage is the most compatible. In the table of meat cuts choose those with the lowest index among the compatible cuts.

I understand that the foods reported in red in the Thema 400-01 nutritional intolerances are those to be avoided for 60 days. But can I eat the foods marked in black when I want and in any quantity?
Obviously not! If you are tolerant to carrots, it does not mean that you can eat 4 kilos a day of them. The phenomenon of food tolerability, like that of intolerance, also depends on quantity, frequency, combination, seasonality, etc. This is why it is necessary to be followed by a professional. It is advisable to choose a professional who knows how to interpret a BioMetaTest of nutritional intolerances.

Can the test also be carried out on young children?
Yes. It is possible to carry out the test also on newborns and babies. Of course, in this case, the test must be performed on the baby, while the meal plan must be followed by the mother until she stops breastfeeding.
If the baby is being weaned, he will have to avoid all baby foods containing intolerant products. In the meantime, the mother shall still follow the recommended diet until she has stopped breastfeeding and in any case shall always take live cultures.

Is it possible to remain anonymous, omit the surname, use an invented name or use an identification code instead of the first and last name?
Our company complies with the rules on privacy and therefore, as required by law, a data pseudonymisation system can be adopted to maintain the anonymity of customers. Therefore, we can guarantee to the customer that a fantasy name, an alphanumeric code or just the name may be shown on the test.
In these cases it is necessary for the customer to send us a copy of his / her valid identity document, to put his handwritten signature in the three fields on the back of form 62 and to indicate on form 62 the name or code to be used on the test.

Personal threshold for nutritional intolerance test
Percentage value assigned to each patient by our patented geno-bionic software, based on the information obtained from the bio-spectrophotometric analysis of the subject’s biological sample combined with the subject’s data-metric information (relating to weight, height, pathologies, conditions, profiles, etc.).
All food items with a value greater than the personal threshold are considered to be “nutritionally intolerant” and are listed in red. These foods should be eliminated for a period of 60 or 90 days, after which they can be gradually reintroduced, starting with the least “intolerant” food, or the patient should repeat the test.
